Social Understanding, Gender and Sexuality – School Wellbeing Program
15 November, 2019 - 16 November, 2019
The program at Freshwater Creek Steiner School includes a parent information on the Friday morning and work with students during the day. The staff will have a professional development day on Saturday.
Working Wholistically with Social Understanding, Gender and Sex is a social program that gradually unfolds for students as they move from Class 5 to 12.
It encourages equality and self confidence by building recognition and acceptance of inner individuality that develops alongside changes in the physical body and the recognition of social conditioning verses the possibility of individual choice. The basis is upon keeping the whole class together and from Class 8 the conversations deepen to include physical and emotional diversity, sex, sexuality, gender and attraction.
